Starting with a single location in Toronto in 2016, plant-based restaurant Planta now has four beautiful eateries, including the newest in Miami’s trendy South of Fifth neighborhood.
After opening in 2018, Planta’s Miami location quickly developed a reputation as one of the best Miami Beach restaurants. Co-founder and Executive Chef David Lee wanted to create an upscale dining concept that served 100% vegan food, but was open to all. Omnivores, pescatarians, vegans, and everything in between are welcome here!
Chef Lee placed this top Miami Beach restaurant into the capable hands of Chef de Cuisine Benjamin Goldman. Under Chef Goldman’s leadership, Planta Miami Beach has quickly gained recognition for its innovative menu and high-quality ingredients. Planta is a regular feature on Eater’s 38 Best Restaurants in Miami, and Chef Goldman was awarded Eater Miami’s coveted Chef of the Year award in 2018. Planta was also the Reader’s Choice for Most Gorgeous Restaurant of the Year in Miami’s Eater Awards for 2018.
Planta is proud to serve the best vegan food in Miami Beach. Our innovative international menu includes dishes from poke to pizza, Asian flavors to American classics. But everything at Planta is made of the highest-quality ingredients, sourced from our own rooftop vegetable garden or from ethical suppliers.
Located in the hip South of Fifth neighborhood, we’re near the 17-acre South Pointe Park and plenty of shopping. This is a laid back area of Miami that you don’t want to miss! After a day of wandering the neighborhood, stop our Miami Beach vegan restaurant for a filling and nutritious meal.
There is easy public parking just across the street, and valet service as well.
If you’re unable to come into Planta, order online instead! We work with UberEats, Postmates, and Doordash to bring wonderful vegan food to you.
Dining at Planta
At Planta, we don’t just swap out animal products for meat substitutes. Instead, we use plant ingredients to make something completely new. Our menu is intended to please everyone, whether they eat vegan every day, or just once per week.
One of our focuses at Planta is on maki and nigiri. The light, fresh flavors of sushi work beautifully with a plant-based approach. The Rainbow Roll has bright watermelon, creamy avocado, tofu, cucumber and rice puff for a take on the classic seafood roll. Our Spicy Tuna roll has “ahi” made from watermelon! It’s finished with scallion, spicy mayo, and sesame “masago,” and it’s one of our fan favorites.
If you can’t get enough of our maki, come by for Maki Mondays! You can get unlimited maki rolls for just $27 starting at 5:30 PM on Mondays. Plus, try extra sides like blistered shishito peppers with truffle soya and fried tofu with gochujang (a Korean red chili paste). Add bottomless sake to your Monday, too!
There’s plenty more on the menu at this top Miami Beach restaurant beyond maki and nigiri. Fresh, crisp salads, Korean-style lettuce wraps, and Cauliflower Tots with truffled almond parmesan are also on the menu.
Plus, we have a full range of indulgent vegan pizzas. The Bianca is topped with cauliflower, potatoes, fragrant rosemary, creamy cashew mozzarella, and rich truffle oil. And the Frenchie is loaded with mushrooms, squash, cashew mozzarella, almond parmesan, and a light truffle vinaigrette. All pizzas are available with gluten-free crust!
One of the most famous dishes at our Miami Beach vegan restaurant is the Planta Burger. Chef Lee’s vegan burger patty made from lentils, beans, mushrooms, oats, and chickpeas is a favorite with vegans and non-vegans alike. The burger is topped with house-made dill pickles, lettuce, and tomato, then smothered with chipotle aïoli and vegan queso.
For the Italian food fanatic, try our Sunday Sauce menu! We serve authentic, plant-based Italian fare every Sunday night. Spaghetti and “meatballs,” crispy cauliflower parmesan, and build-your-own pizzas are on the menu. Don’t miss the house-made focaccia! Plus, get a bottle of our featured wine for just $35, and a piece of vegan tiramisu for dessert.
Although we are confident that we serve the best vegan food in Miami Beach, we also understand that people have other dietary restrictions as well. That’s why we’re happy to accommodate our gluten-free and nut-free guests as well. Just tell your server about any food restrictions, and we’ll be happy to help!
Brunch at Planta
You can’t be considered the best Miami Beach restaurant without serving a spectacular brunch. In addition to nigiri and maki, salads and pizza, Planta offers delicious brunch plates.
For the sweet tooth, try banana pancakes with Vermont maple syrup, or lemon cashew-ricotta toast. Or for a savory brunch, we have fried “chicken” mushroom waffles or our “crab cake” tostada made from hearts of palm and black beans.
Trust us — you won’t miss the eggs and bacon.
And brunch is only half complete without the daytime cocktails. Bottomless mimosas with fresh orange juice are always a classic. Or try our Rooftop Bloody Mary, made with vine-ripened tomatoes, green peppers, cucumber, and celery from our rooftop garden.
Cocktails and Juices
In addition to the best vegan food in Miami Beach, Planta offers a full menu of beer, wine, cocktails, and fresh-pressed juices to accompany your meal.
The wine list includes red, white, rosé, and bubbles by the glass and bottle. You’ll find a carefully curated mix of both New World and Old World wines, with vegan, organic, biodynamic, and sustainable options.
Make sure to check our cocktail menu, too! Our cocktails are made from high-end spirits and fresh produce from our rooftop garden whenever possible.
The Berry Kombucha Mojito is a refreshing blend of rum, berries, mint, lime, agave, and effervescent berry kombucha. Or get extra veggies in the Drop The Beet, a mezcal cocktail tart lemon and raspberries, fresh-pressed beets and ginger, and spicy Fresno Chili.
If you prefer your juices on their own, try the Beet-le Juice, made of fresh-pressed beets, pineapple, apple, and ginger. Or for something a little spicer, the Picante Punch has carrot, orange, lime, and a dash of cayenne. These fresh juices are like drinking pure sunshine, and they’re as restorative as a strong cup of coffee without the dehydration and jitters.

Planta is the ideal place in Miami Beach for your rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, or birthday party! Our vegan food will be an instant hit with all of your guests. What a great way to introduce your friends and family to plant-based eating!
Planta is not just the best Miami Beach restaurant — it’s also one of the most beautiful. Featuring two separate indoor spaces, two cocktail bars, a sushi bar, and a patio, it’s a feast for your eyes as well as your palate.
The Lounge contains one of the cocktail bars and the sushi bar. This space highlights texture, from the geometric black and white flooring to the undulating wall tile to the wood-slatted ceiling. Green palm print accent walls and copper bar stools provide pops of color. Skylight cutouts and big windows let in plenty of natural light, and bright greenery both indoors and out highlight the restaurant’s plant-based menu.
The second dining space is called The Barn, and with good reason. The modern vaulted ceiling evokes the bones of a classic barn, but in a crisp, clean black and white color palette. The walls are covered with white-washed oak that was reclaimed from a 1920s house. But there’s nothing rustic about our barn! Plush white booths and black and white striped flooring keep The Barn thoroughly modern.
Out front, we have a small patio where guests can dine al fresco. And of course, we have our rooftop garden to turn Miami sunshine into perfect veggies and herbs for our menu.
Make sure to follow us on social media to receive updates and details on special events and new menu items! You don’t want to miss Bottomless Rosé day or our stunning holiday menus!
We believe that chic can still be sustainable. We hope you’ll come to visit our Miami Beach vegan restaurant so we can prove it to you.
